Research On The Structural Characteristics Of Career Maturity Of College Students In Guizhou Province By Facet Theory

In order to know the structural characteristics of college students'career maturity in Guizhou province, this paper integrates the relative researches at home and abroad. By the method of Facet theory this article constructs the structure of college students'career maturity in Guizhou province, and compiles the questionnaire of college students'career maturity. The answers of 1526 students from six colleges in Guizhou province confirm the rationality of the questionnaire, the research carried on the features of the career maturity in 1047 students.The results show that,⑴the career maturity of college students is divided into two aspects---cognitive and affective, as the cognitive contains self-cognition, the recognition to career world, and career self-cognition; the affective includes self-confidence, determination, initiative and compromise. The structure of college students'career maturity should be considered in the four dimensional space.⑵In general , the college students'career maturity is in the state of immaturity.⑶Among the colleges in Guizhou province, the students with different ages do not have great differences in career maturity and its aspects. There are only several differences between the 20---23 and 23---29 age group in the recognition to career world and initiative. The career maturity of male college students is higher than female students, while the female can manage the balance between ideality and reality better than male students.⑷Among the colleges in Guizhou province, only-child undergraduates'career maturity, cognition to career world, and career self-cognition are higher than non-only-child, while the formers are weaker in initiative. The self-cognition, recognition to career world and career self-cognition of urban family's students are all higher than the students came from rural areas, while the later are higher in the aspect of initiative. The better education parents received, the higher recognition students have, while lower in initiative and compromise; the educational level of parents is over university, the students'self---confidence and determination are lower than ones, whose parents just graduated from primary school or lower.⑸Among the colleges in Guizhou province,the career maturity in students of art specialty is the highest. Medical students manage the balance of ideality and reality worst. Science students are worst in the understanding to career world and the career determination.⑹Among the universities in Guizhou province, the career maturity of students who join in league activity and have the experience of multiple jobholding is higher than the degree of those who don't. More active in the career exploring, the higher career maturity students will have.
