The problem of teaching quality in the newly-established universities is getting more and more seriously obvious because of its short period of upgrading, insufficient experience in running undergraduate universities and especially being responsible for training talents after enrolment expansion. Assessment is an efficient way undoubtedly and the assessment of educational ministry every five years plays an active role in improving the teaching quality of newly-established universities. This thesis maintains that the activities of self-assessment automatically held in the newly-established universities as assessment subjects are the internal causes of improving teaching quality. The newly-established universities can push the improvement of teaching quality only based on building and perfecting the assessment system of teaching quality and combining the internal assessment with external assessment. So, the subject of the study is the internal teaching assessment of newly-established university.First of all, this thesis analyzes the development status and problems of newly-established universities perspective of positioning, management, and teaching to make the difference and distance between newly-established universities and other universities. Then, it discusses the necessities of building and perfecting internal assessment system of teaching quality in newly-established universities in order to specify the functions of internal teaching assessment in the process of improving its teaching quality. Furthermore, the status of internal teaching assessment in the newly-established universities and the existing problems are put forward after empirical investigation and study. Finally, it advances some measures and solutions to those problems.
