Knowledge management, as a brand new management idea and management method, has entered the field of education. PE teachers in high educational institutes, who have being spreaded and created educational knowledge, need urgently to study the ways to master their own knowledge as well as improve their level of professional knowledge.This research is based on the theories of knowledge management. It takes the current situations and related researches of PE teachers in colleges and universities as the breakthrough point.It introduces the idea of knowledge management into the personal knowledge management of PE teachers which can be classified into two catergories: the overt knowlege and the covert knowledge with their detailed contents and characteristcs.Trough analysis of the current situation and the existing problems,it constructively studies the practical problems and theories such as the definition, goals, contents,characteristics, procedures and methods about personal knowledge management of PE teachers in colleges and universities and this research also puts knowledge management stategies and approches of those two categories forward. On one hand, this research embodies the knowledge management into PE education in colleges and universities,forms its special subject traits and thus completes the span from theories to practice, from the macro-direction to reality.On the other hand, it tries to arouse the consciousness of self-management, which will help teachers themselves overtize their casual and unconscious experiences(i.e. covert knowledge), with expectation to exlarge their acclumulation of knowledge and rearrange their knowledge resourses aimed to promote the effective carry-out of personal knowledge management.In conclusion, the proposal in this research that personal knowledge management's characterics and tactics improvement should be understood from the high point of knowledge management will enlighten and direct the of the strenthening of PE teachers'self-qualitification construction.
