Into the knowledge-based economy era,with the progress of science and technology,the educational concepts have changed a lot because of new requirements of intelligent structure and training mode of personnel called by the society.The training mode,training means and educational contents need to be reformed.The Research-based learning is similar to a kind of scientific research way that students choosing research topics from their living environment and society under the guidance of teachers,then learn,practice and deal with problems actively.The core of Research -based learning is to transform the study ways from the old mode to a new one which is focus on the active exploration and attaches great importance to cultivate the innovative spirits and practical abilities of the students.The Research-based learning is an important way for the educational reform of higher education.This paper,focusing on the Research-based learning of Fine Arts Institutes and taking University A in Chongqing as a case-study,provides some relative suggestions, theoretic references and practical supports to improve Research-based learning in Fine Arts Institutes of China on the basis of the deep research and analysis through literature, interview,observation and material collection.The study found that:most of teachers of University A had clarity of purpose for the Research-based learning;Practical activities of Creation is the main Learning content:Research-based learning of the professional disciplines field is the main way;Research-based learning promoted the students' creativity and innovation capabilities.But there are still have some issues on carried out of Research-based learning in Fine Arts Institutes.This study analysis the factors of the impact on the development of the Research-based learning in University A,and made some advices on strengthening the Research-based learning in Fine Arts Institutes.These advices cover from improving teaching mode in Fine Arts Institutes;strengthening training of teaching staff and process management to establishing of pluralistic evaluation.It provides a theoretical and empirical support for carried out of Research-based learning in Fine Arts Institutes.
