Along with the community's requirements of high -quality high school education,master as the core streng of the quality of student education,the high school masters' competence are gradually received researchers' attention.What type quality should they have to be competent the job? How appraises it to be competent the quality the level of development and the characteristic? These questions are very important for the education of high school master and effective implementation.This article summarizes the competence of the high school master from theory and the real diagnosis angle,and analyze the existing researcher's insufficiency and the limitation.In this foundation,this article profits the achievement from the quality about the high school master of the domestic and foreign,using the literature law,the observation law,questionnaire invetigationg,behavioral event interview and factor analysis method,was competent the quality structure to the high school master has conducted the preliminary exploration research..Concrete research content including two parts:(1)the theoretical construction of the competence of the high school master,that is in the foundation of the theoretical analysis and interview law,the use the competence dictionary and behavioral event interview law,and initially construct the theoretical competency model of the high school master;(2)In according to the constructed competency model one and the results of the questionnaire,draw up the original questionnaire and modify it seriously,and the send out the questionnaire to the high school master and ask them to evaluate the inmportance of the constructed competence,return the valid questionnaires,and the analyze the data with explored factor analysis and the validity and reliability of it,thus form a measurement tool of the high school master.Synthesizes this research,the results are reporter as followking: (1)The constructed competency models of masters include the traits of excellent masters and the traits of all the masters.The excellent masters own some specific traits, such as responsibility,Understanding the others,self-control,expertise,self-confidence, conceptual thinking,self-evaluation and efficiency etc.The competency traits of all the masters,however,include managing pupils,innovation,teamwork and corporation, professional preferences,interpersonal communication,respect for others,analytical thinking and stable moodetc.The assessment resulted from self-evaluation questionnaire shows that this model suitably outlines the competencies of the masters.(2)This study developed "the competency model of high school masters" which contains 4 litems and 9sub-scales.These sub-scales is divided into personal traits,focus on pupils' needs,Expertise,relationship building,etc.The reliability and validity of the test achieve the psychometric criterion.According to the conclusions,several suggestions are proposed for prospective master selections,placement,performance appraisal,those who intend to be master in the high schools,master competency standards and qualification,master education,master professional development,and the future research.
