The key to education reform lies in the curriculum and curriculum reform is inseparable from the changes in teaching materials. This article proceeds from structure of the teaching materials and compares the current compulsory teaching material of Guangdong edition with that of Pep' edition. The content structure of the teaching material refers to every key element within the teaching material. Conform to the organizational form of the law between compositions, which include training objective, content of courses and concrete way of presenting them. The key elements of the teaching material include knowledge ,ability, emotional attitude and values.The characteristics of the following several respects in the comparison of the teaching material are as follows:Firstly, the layout of the teaching material is abundant in content. There are lots of contents combining with actual life. The illustration of the teaching material is various such as photos, prints, canvas etc.The teaching material is very elegant in appearance. Students have received the visual pleasure and spiritual mold in the course of study. Designed column in the teaching material is very abundant. The columns in People's edition are divided into two, a leading column and an expanded one. The former consists of "Thinking and discussing "" experiment "" demonstrating " " consulting the case "and so on. These columns are all the essential to teaching, if lacked, it is disadvantageous for students to fully comprehend the physical rudimentary knowledge, so the size of the script is the same as text in the textbook, which is of great importance. The latter includes " Do" " say " " STS" " stroll scientifically "" scientific footprint " and so on., these columns do not have definite requirements, offering the optional study content for the students who learn to have surplus energy and have the special professional interest, and they can expand their knowledge view. If students do not study them, it is disadvantageous for them to develop in an all-round way, but unlikely to influence the continuation of teaching, it can fix on the basis of detailed school conditions and student ability. All these have reflected elasticity and opening of the teaching material. The columns of senior high school physics materials in the Guangdong edition falls into two kinds overall, one is the teaching content in class, like" the experiment and investigation ", " observation and thinking ", " discussing and exchanging "; the other is activities after class, such as" practice and expansion", " Information sheets ", " our websites "." practice " and" exercises in each chapter "are placed and analyzed in the exercise part.Secondly, the requirements in the two types of teaching materials are both accord with the demands of the Curriculum Standards. They focused on the close ties to social life in the exercises, not just on the simple consolidation to physical concept and law again. Exercises in the Guangdong edition are more than those in Pep' edition, while Pep' edition lacks necessary exercises in every chapter, students have no assurance generally to the whole chapter, which needs reinforcing.Thirdly, these two types of new teaching materials have strengthened the requirements on teacher's teaching correctly. Because of the increase of the teaching material columns, which have very great requirements to the teacher's knowledge level and teaching ability. The teaching material reflects better on the development of course and ability. The teaching materials of two types of editions have both widened students' range of knowledge, and lowered the depth of knowledge.
