The Comparative Research On The Characteristic Of Running The Local Comprehensive Universities

Now the higher education competition is more and more intense. Characteristic of running university, as one of the strategies for university development, is playing an increasingly important role. For the existing and sustainable development of local comprehensive university, they conduct various ways of the construction characteristic of running university. This paper attempts to find how to shape the characteristics in the local comprehensive university.The paper chooses some local comprehensive universities from the Universities which were jointly built by the province and the Ministry of Education in china. Then it uses the comparative research method to study the characteristic of running the local comprehensive universities. Firstly, the paper briefly introduces the current situation of the research objects, classifies them according to the three basic functions of universities. Secondly, it analyzes the characteristic of running universities from the perspectives of core competitiveness theory, summarizes the successful experience and defects in local comprehensive university. Finally, this thesis tries to put forward some suggestions for constructing the characteristic of running the orientation of the Joint construction of universities. Hopefully, it would be helpful to the development of such kind of universities.
