College Student Academic Assessment is an intrinsic part of the higher education as well as an important assurance measure for the quality of university education and teaching. Since 1980s, its theory and practice have some achievements. But on the whole,it also have some defects, such as"a tendency toward managerial","neglect the value of multi-differential "and "over-emphasis on the identification functions of assessment"and so on.The paper directed by the fourth generation of evaluation theory which based on the pluralistic values, propose to fully respect all stakeholders'value demands.In the process,it advocate reducing the differences between different values, and shorting the differences between different views through communication and consultation, eventually reaching consensus on evaluation criteria, forming evaluation report, making an objective and comprehensive value judgment for students academic development in the end.The purpose of this study was to provide the possibility that we can go out of the traditional student academic assessment barriers, and promote the development of education evaluation theory and practice.The article mainly includes following five chapters:Chapter 1,set forth the reason to choose this topic, the theoretical basis of this study and the research ideas and methods.And run through the current research status, then defined the important concepts in light of the need for the paper.Chapter2,run through the historical process of student academic assessment theoretical,and list several evaluation models which strongly influenced the current student academic assessment.Made a historic visit for evaluation theory.Chapter3,through interviews,collected the literature and analysis the specific case,show the current student academic assessment status,and describe the problems.Chapter4, based on the analysis of the United States student academic evaluation, to discuss the revelation for our higher education student academic evaluation,pave the way for proposing the college student academic evaluation in the perspective of the fourth generation of evaluation theory in the following part.Chapter5,based on the comprehensive understanding of the fourth generation of evaluation, analysis the basic requirements and considerations of the fourth generation of evaluation on College Student Academic Assessment,proposed that College Student Academic Assessment should be concerned about "value pluralism","full participation","joint construction" and other new ideas, and give a brief discussion about how to use the fourth generation of evaluation studies in the evaluation of university students in the practical implementation.
