Teachers'professional skill is an essential element making the professional quality of normal university student. The level of these skills has a direct impact on the teaching performance of normal university student in their future career. Nevertheless, the training of the professional skills hasn't been attached much importance to, which results in many graduates'incompetence as qualified teachers at elementary or secondary school for quite a long time. Under the background of deepening the elementary education reform and carrying out the education for all-around development, the research on the training of teachers'professional skills aims at finding out the main problems and the causes in the training process through an investigation of the present situation and attempting to, with the new curriculum-oriented, proposed recommendations for cultivation of normal university student's professional skills. so as to contribute to the training of more qualified potential teachers.The research mainly employs the methods of documentary analysis, questionaire and interview. The documentary analysis, based on the collection of related publications and theses, summarizes the achievements and deficiencies of the past research and forms the ideas of our research in terms of literature review. As for the second method, numbers of normal university student are investigated by self-compiled questionaire. In this way, the problems and the reasons in training process are analyzed quantitatively. Interview, as a complement of the former, is employed to know the underlying problems and causes in the training process.Based on an understanding of the professional skills training of normal university student and the need of the elementary education reform being carried on, the thesis investigates into normal university student'views and attitudes towards the professional skills training for potential teachers, the current curriculum in regard to normal university student'professional training, the level of teachers'professional skills in normal universities or colleges, the training and management of normal university student'professional skills, and normal university student'self-training of the professional skills. The investigation reveals that the vocational training has gained more and more attention under the new course reform with some measures or methods having been adopted in universities, elementary and secondary schools. However, the fact of graduates'incompetence in their teaching indicates some problems existing in professional skills training, which could be summarized as normal university student'inadequate knowledge of the professional training, the irrational curriculum structure of professional training, the normal university student who agree that the level of professional skills of the training teachers has a great influence on themselves, think the training teachers are not qualified, the irregular management of the training, the unscientific examination and evaluation of normal university students'professional skills upon graduating and the inadequate self-training for normal university student. The principal causes of those problems lie in the construction of training course's lagging behind, unqualification of the teachers responsible for the training, unsuitable teaching method and the instruction for professional training, lack of organization and management as regards training issue and inadequate guarantee on self-training.A training system of normal university student'professional should be constructed under the new course reform. Firstly, an organization system for normal university student'professional skills training is advised to built, including a steering group for training work set up by the educational administrative department, a training center in normal universities, and a counseling center at elementary and secondary schools. Secondly, optimization of normal university student in the process of vocational skills training, which can be achieved through Adhere the basic principles of to human-oriented, focus on the development. Lastly, With the new curriculum-oriented, proposed recommendations for cultivation of normal university student's professional skills, which can be achieved through accelerating the specification of the training goal, introducing a financing safeguard for the training, enhancing the construction of curriculum resources, setting up the assessment system for the training.
