Nowadays, increasingly integrated career development leads to higher demand of trained professionals, and different industries have different requirements for occupational competence, which requires measurement of occupational competence of students. The performance of students can be measured according to the competency standards of vocational education, thus the education objectives can be examined. In this paper, the vocational education examination model in German dual system is analyzed, which includes the structure, content, tasks and methods of the examination model. In addition, training methods and competence measurement methods are also discussed. Suggestions are proposed for the Chinese vocational education based on the experience of the German dual system. For students, their vocational competence should be appropriately measured and strengthened, and the feedback can be used to improve their learning performance. For mentors, they should amend the teaching contents and strategies so that the teaching performance can be improved. For the Chinese vocational education, the examination system should be adjusted to the requirement of the measurement of vocational competence. The involvement of the enterprises is the key of the dual system of the German vocational education. The enterprises can provide the training facilities for the students as well as the mentors. The Chinese vocational education should encourage the involvement of enterprises so that the educational objectives can meet the requirements of the enterprises. Furthermore, the amount of the mentors should be increased with the increase of the students and their quality should be improved in order to train qualified graduates.
