In the background of reform of the new curriculum, Shandong province began to carry out the college entrance examination reform since the year of 2007. One of the most important changes in this reform is adding the content of test about foundational abilities. And the music belongs to this area of reform.It has so many meanings that the music was brought into the college entrance examination reform. It can help to deepen the ideas of the new curriculum reform, and it will to put forward the new requires to the class teaching of music in high school. The music appreciation which is the basic part of the music curriculum in high school is necessary faced with the reform of the teaching methods and modes. Because the music appreciation is compulsory subject in high school, which is inevitable be the important content in the test about foundational abilities. The college entrance examination reform gives the music appreciation a fresh angle of view to reflect the currently teaching methods. The research about the music appreciation is not so deeply nowadays. Undeniable, the traditional teaching methods of music appreciation had been a significant role to culture the students'foundational abilities of music, but the shortcomings of which is obvious. Concretely speaking, the teaching methods and modes of traditional music appreciation have lagged with the development of the new curriculum reform, and it is hard to satisfy the needs of the development of the new curriculum reform and the request of students grow. To strengthen the research about music appreciation has been an important task to the music teachers and music researchers.By analysis on the guiding ideology of college entrance examination in the last three years, we can draw a conclusion that the college entrance examination emphasize especially to culture the students'comprehensive abilities. But the abilities of music can not be improve in few times, which need the music teachers in high school to explore the new and more useful methods to raise the students'comprehensive abilities of music step by step in the classroom. Only on this way can students learn to how to confront with the college entrance examination, and what's more, to obtain the music abilities in order that they can sustainable development. Therefore, I put forward some more useful teaching methods based on the request of the college entrance examination and my teaching experience. They should include teaching method of experience, teaching method of contrast, teaching methods of cooperation and searching. These teaching methods that have not been researched at present can help the students to get more comprehensive development.There are four parts in this thesis. The purpose of this research is introduced in the first part. The necessity of research of teaching methods and background of times are written in the second part. The third part is the centre of this thesis, which including three music teaching methods and how to use these methods in the classroom of music appreciation, etc. The forth part is the end of this thesis. Summary and foreground of this research are talked briefly in this part.
