The Research Of Social Work Service Orienting To Development Of Livelihood

Taking Qing Hong Social Work Service Station as a study case,My research try to describe the service which Service Station has done and study the relationship between social work service and the development of livelihood. By the means of interview and participant observation,I have found that Qing Hong Social Work Service Station was directed by the concept of developmental social work. By using integrated service approach, the Service Station has carried out family livelihood mutual help group, case work, rehabilitation services and community activities. Finally social workers helped clients achieve the development of livelihood. The writer summarizes Qing Hong's service as the model of"physiology-psychology-society-livelihood". Qing Hong's service has some features, such as emphasizing the developmental of social work service, cultivating organization of mutual help to achieve development of livelihood, emphasizing participant and ability improving of the clients, sustainable livelihood directed by the concept of"helping people to assist themselves". Based on the description and analysis, the writer makes these conclusions: developmental social welfare which has productive function can improve people's income and welfare and also enhance both social and economic benefits; social work should and can intervene the livelihood of the clients; the social work service orienting to livelihood should contain these elements: the concept of developmental social work, the development route of"from community to society", the creation of mutual help organizations in community, the enhancement of clients'ability and participation of clients, providing service with integrated methods, the construction of assets and so on. Besides conclusions above, the writer also makes some suggestions: the government should coordinate social and economic policies; service of social work should be contained in China's Social Assistance Scheme; organizations providing social work service should improve their developmental capability.
