In the beginning of the 20th century and the mid-90, economy is developing as well as science & technology keeps progressing. Regional economic integration, globalization and difficult to meet customer needs increase products market competition. Technology progressing and the diversification make the life cycle of products more and more shortened, enterprises are facing with the pressure of shortening the delivery, improving products quality, depressing the cost and improving on service. All of these require companies can continue to respond rapidly to changing market and continuously develop products that meet customer needs to capture the market in order to gain a competitive. Market competition will mainly focus on new products and start on it. In recent years, for a manufacturing company in terms that how to close cooperation with various partners to form a reasonable supply chains become a focus of competition. Among these, how to scientifically evaluate and select strategic partner suppliers and establish long-term partnership to gain competitive advantage is the most important thing.First of all, this paper describes the Supply Chain Management and supplier selection theory and points out that the Supply Chain Management concepts, functions and features. After that, it analyzes the meaning and methods of supplier selection according to the requirements of Supply Chain Management.Secondly, this paper elaborates related issues to selection and evaluation of XM company current supplier selection. It describes the background of the company, analyzes the guiding ideology as well as the procedure of selection and evaluation system that used now. By describing the company's current supplier selection and evaluation of related issues, I analyzes the existing problems, and points out the reasons for these problems.On this basis, I apply the theory of supply chain and supplier choice what introduced to XM companies. First, I propose the guiding ideology for establishment of strategic partnership supplier. Second, I establish the process to strategic partnership supplier evaluation and selection. Third, I establish the mechanism of evaluation and incentive to strategic partnership supplier.Finally, through strategic partnership supplier selection and evaluation of the company, I draw the corresponding conclusions that some problems for all manufacturers who want to establish strategic partnership supplier should pay attention to. For future development, I believe that more attention should be the detail problems to establishment of strategic partnership supplier, such as selection to evaluation method as well as incentive and evaluation mechanism.
