Xue Ji is a educational summa of confucionism in the Pre-Qin Dinasty, which is the eariest and the most integrated educational work in China and even in the world. Xue Ji explored and concluded some classic teaching methods and principles, such as inspiration, encouraging students'advantages and overcoming weakness, development of curricular study and excurricular hobbies, teaching according to children's best studying ages, the inter-promotion between teaching and learning, and so on.. These teaching methods and principles not only played an important role in ancient teaching practice but aslo enlighten teachers and education researchers on morden chemistry teaching.This paper reveal the connotation of the principle of "Long-lost good save", the effect and meaning of the principle on the middle school Chemistry teaching in the New Curriculum Standards Reforms and some enlightment about the relationship between the principle and Chemistryteaching. It researches the purpose of realizing "Long-lost good save" and the theories of teaching according to characteristics of different students, inspiring teaching, the best teaching phrases and time and teaching value and student value upon the chemistry teaching under New Curriculum Standards Reforms by practising which to realize "Long-lost good save".The classical principle of "Long-lost good save" is discussed, definined and explored in this paper with the purpose to find out the solution of some problems such as encouraging students' advantages and overcoming weakness, the emphasis on the progress of the slow-studying students and making up for the mistakes and loss during teaching. In this way, it is possible for this legacy of Chinese teaching theories to heritage, develop and promote with new vitality. The paper is a meaningful try for realizing the innovation of teaching theories.
