This paper starts from the ontology of Chinese studies, and describes the semantic,syntactic and pragmatic features of range adverb "Dadu", the mutual corroboration of semantic, syntactic, pragmatic perspectives to achieve. The thesis investigates the acquisition of "Dadu" in intermediate and advanced level oversea students,sums up the types of errors and analyzes the causes of the errors. Finally, some suggestions on the teaching of "Dadu" are put forward, hoping to provide suggestions to teaching Chinese as a foreign language. This article is divided into five chapters.The first chapter is the introduction, describes the contents, the significance and the situation of the research, it briefly describes the research methods and corpus source.The second chapter, at the syntactic level, analyzes the position of "Dadu. in sentences, the elements which "Dadu" embellish, and the collocation with other words,which focus on the investigation of the collocation with volitive auxiliary and other adverbs.The third chapter, at the semantic level, lists the explanation of "Dadu" in the dictionary, it summarizes the semantic features of "Dadu", comprehensively analyzes the semantic orientation of "Dadu".The fourth chapter, at the pragmatic level, examines the stylistic distribution and the selection of sentence categories of "Dadun" it points out the use condition in different stylistic distribution and sentence categories.The fifth chapter, tries to understand the intermediate and advanced level oversea students' acquisition on "Dadu" via questionnaires. It analyses the basic conditions of oversea students in Central China Normal University who participate in this survey, and then analyses data of the acquisition of the students in the questionnaire.In the sixth chapter, according to the statistical results obtained in Chapter 5, it summarizes the types of errors in the use of "Dadu", and the reasons for the errors.The seventh chapter, the teaching of functional words is the focus and difficulty in teaching Chinese as a foreign language, it occupies an important position in the whole teaching. According to the errors, the corresponding effective teaching strategies and methods are put forward.
