Theory of corporation Reengineering (following referred as a Theory? has triggered second revolution in corporation administration. Having been in a rudimentary form for one decade, Theory has brought grew import to traditional theories of corporation administration, such as MBO, Theory Z, TQM and institution reengineering, etc. And it also presents new opportunities for a large number of corporations in the ~rtd. This tendency is exerting positive influence on the state-owned corporations in reform in line. Faced with the second tide of business administration, and having a broad overview of the conditions of state-owned corporation reforms, the author is aware that Theory has not produced fer-reaching influence and not been applied into practice frequently in our country. What cause the current situation are the following factors: 1. Little has been done to make a comprehensive research in Theory in our country; 2. Business community and administrative officials lay little emphasis on Theory; 3. There is a wide gap between perception of Theory and its application during government?s establishment of modem corporation system This thesis tries to make a systematic research in Theory, and on the basis of Theory, proposes practical solutions of how to shake off the yoke of traditional idees of national conditions, how to deeper and accelerate opening- up and reforms of state-owned enterprises, how to establish standardized modem corporation system. First priority should be given to the background of Theory and its implication during the study of Theory. The first chapter dwells upon its formation, development and definition, as well as makes on analysis of distinctions between Theory and other managerial theories and put forward objects applicable to Theory. Chapter Two concentrates on re-engineering of corporation business process, which is the core of Theory. It is through various processes that corporations are supposed to operate. In the era of information and knowledge, changes in corporations?internal and external environment, as well as the swift and violent advancement of science and technology, bring about favorable circumstances for re- engineering of business process. The author elaborates the connotative process of re-engineering a (mainly three connotations: distinguishing core of business process, drawing up principles and targets of reengineering, enforcement of re-engineering.) and the key issues in reengineering process. Chapter Three applies Theory to discuss models of Chinese modem corporation system. The Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee formally proposed to establish modem corporation system is November 1993, which presents new opportunities, Nevertheless, Theory cannot be employed to guide reforms of state-owned corporation in accordance with the inherent characteristics of modem corporation unless models of modem corporation in our country has been made clear and definite to meet requirements of intrinsic development of corporations. Chapter Four, to counter the practical problems of establishing modern corporation system, points out that two problems should be solved in the application do Theory: one is severing hierarchically government; another is coordinating inter æ¢'orporation relations of business process. during establishment of modem corporation system, the question of first importance is property, which remains unsettled for a long time and therefore has held...
