China is a great nation in developing as well as a big agricultural country composed mainly of peasants and based on agriculture. The process of agricultural development is of vital importance to the nation抯 economy and the overall progress of society. Since The Third Plenary Session of the 1 l~ Central committee of the C.P.C the Reform and Open and the introduction of advanced technology laid a solid foundation to modernized agriculture. Now in the world the regional conflicts are sharpening, meanwhile, the inter-regional corperation are enhancing further. Japan and China are neighbouring countries and have the same situation of large population with relatively little land and limited per resource. The relationship in economy, politic and culture area of great significance to both countries. And what made me ponderd especially are the abruptly rose of Japan in Asia and the world after the world war and it抯 success in agricultural modernization by basing on the peasant抯 household management of production. The content and opinions that discussed in this article are of a certain value for reference on how to solve the agricultural problem properly in the construction of the socialist market economy. The article focused on the agricultural process in Japan and the problem in it. First, it introduced the survey of agricultural development in Japan,. illustrated the developing process and it抯 characteristics mainly. Then discussed the agricultural modernization in Japan and effective approch to realize it --- agricultural integration, including the general theories of it, agricultural integration in Japan and the problems in Japanese agriculture. Last, about the enlightment to China from the agricultural integration in Janpan, talked mainly about the way of rural reform in Chian; the only choice for Chinese agriculture and the enlightment to China from the agricultural integration in Japan.
