Community Building, Under The Vision Of Communitarianism

As a cell of urban society, urban community is important and essential. Only when each a community is harmonious, can a whole society be harmonious. Hence, at present, the research on community building is very significant theoretically and practically.Because Jiefang District is located inland, its traffic is inconvenient and economy is underdeveloped. Jiefang District has made daring experiments on community building and won titles such as Henan Test District of Community Building, one of the first National Model Districts of Community Building and many other honorary titles of provincial and state levels. Thus, taking the community building of this district as a study case, the paper uses the theory of communitarianism to analyze the case so that other medium and small cities in the underdeveloped west-middle areas can draw some lessons from it.As one of the main schools of contemporary politics, communitarianism is also called "Public Interest Politics" or "New Collectivism". Communitarianism takes community as the basic element for its political analysis. Communitarianism emphasizes the principle of collective rights priority, advocates the priority of public interest, emphasizes the value of family, community and state, calls for patriotism, and encourages citizens to actively participate in politics.Based on communitarianism, the paper studies the community building of Jiefang District, abstracts its good lessons and points out its present problems. Simultaneously, by using the theoretical tool, the paper analyzes and generalizes these problems and in the end, pointed out the ways for our state's community building.The paper includes five parts: the first part is Introduction. It illustrates the background, definition, basic opinions of community building, the reasons why this case is chosen and the creative opinions of the writer. The second part discusses the practical significance and theoretical value of our state's community building in the transition period. The third part states what Jiefang District has done to build community. The fourth part mainly analyzes the case from the angle of communitarianism. Based on communitarianism, the final part puts forward the paths that our state should take to build community.
