Basketball as a collective sport is widely used around the world among middle school PE class, it is accepted by the majority of teachers and students in our country. However, with the advent of the new era, the concept of sports education classroom also changes. According to" high school physical education and health curriculum standards" under the guidance of high school physical education curriculum reform should focus on "people-oriented", "health first" and "individualized" and "lifetime sports" such basic concepts for implementation, which urgently needs school basketball Elective Course for self-adjustment initiative in education mode, adapt to the times. Teaching of high school basketball in the past mostly in a "traditional mode of education" to "educate" the main focus on the completion of the task of teaching and teach basketball skills, ignoring the student body, creativity, reducing the interest of students. This paper studied sports education model with its unique features and characteristics of the students brought a real, rich sports experience.
