Chinese Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education advocates the teaching ideas thatfocus on students. During the course of teaching, the learning ways of autonomy, cooperationand inquiry are actively applied, which distinguish the new Chinese class from the traditionalteaching opinions.Cooperative group learning, a newly-born learning way, is the product of theimplementation of the New Curriculum Standards. Applying this teaching way in class, students’predominant status is fully respected and concerned. At the same time, improve students’ overallabilities by using the cooperative learning evaluation view and set good examples for theclassroom teaching mode with the guidance of the Curriculum Standards, both of which havegreat significance to the current education situation.It is a fact that currently there still exist various problems in the Chinese class. On the onehand, we just apply the cooperative group learning way in form, on the other hand, we ignore theessence of the cooperation group learning. Despite of this, by using the cooperative grouplearning, we can well promote our class efficiency, and improve students’ overall abilities suchas listening, speaking, reading and writing, which can enable students to comprehend passagesfrom different angles. With the help of cooperative group learning, the harmonious relationshipsbetween students and teachers can be cultivated and it can help students to adapt the societybetter.According to the writer herself, as a new teaching way in nowadays’ education reformsituation, cooperative group learning shouldn’t be imposed on students by the teachers. What’sthe most important is to arouse students’ learning interest, which belongs to students’ internalneeds. In this paper, basing on practical teaching experiences, the writer who has muchexperience in teaching Chinese in middle school will introduce several modes of cooperativegroup learning, which are decided by the different types of teaching materials. And in addition,the writer refers to some views on how to apply cooperative group learning effectively inChinese class for junior middle school students.
