The Junior high school students?after-class reading is junior high schoolstudents?interests in after-class readings and reading activities. As theinitiative psychological inclination for one抯 own reading activities & thepsychological inclination to actively probe into the content & connotation ofreading materials, it has exerted great significance on the study, mentality,physical health of the Junior high school students. In regard to the currenteducation in china, the junior high school students?after-class reading has notbeen given the adequate attention & effective guidance by schools, families,societies, consequently, the healthy development of junior high schoolstudents?after-class reading was greatly hindered. With an eye to this issue,the author has adopted such methodologies as questionnaire, interview,document-reference to conduct this research.The questionnaire used in this article was answered by 1000students(chosen from random sampling) from 5 key high schools & 5 averagehigh schools. Based on the analysis of the current situation of junior highschool students?interests in after-class readings and research of its tendency,extensiveness, modes, habits, effects and differences, the article points out thebasic features of junior high school students?after-class reading interests.The article places great emphasis on the major problems existing in2problems such as negative inclination, poor taste, inadequacy of reading time,erroneous & negative tendency as for the choice of reading materials, crazefor computer in the choice of reading modes, unhealthy reading habits, thearticle has systematically analyzed the objective & subjective causes of thoseproblems.The article proposed the corresponding education counter-policy to solvethe above- mentioned problems, made an concrete analysis of the regularpatterns junior high school students formed in their after-class reading. Takingpsychological objectives- interest theory & reading theory as its theoreticbases, the article presented an innovative education counter-policy-cultivate.Junior school students ?after-class reading interests in the terms of itsextensiveness, effectiveness & continuousness with the guidance of interestprinciple as well as reading principle. The greatest significance of this articleis that it has adopted the theory & methods in such disciplines as education,psychology, reading to analyze the typical features of Junior high schoolstudents?after-class reading interests & make some ingenious proposals in thecorresponding education counter-policy.
