With the coming of Knowledge Economic Era, education becomes the focus of the world once again. With the development of education reform, a new teaching-studying style has drawn great attention of the world. This style is based on the students' independent exploration and research. It turns in the students' real life and social reality. It is for the purpose to boost the students' spirits of Science, of bringing out new ideas and practical ability. Though there are various definitions about this new teaching-studying style in different countries, they are similar in education theories, objective contents and learning styles. In China, we define the style "Inquiring Study". The essence of the "Inquiring Study" is the researching subjects selected and set from the students' real life and social life with the instruction of the teachers, based on the students' independent research. They are implemented individually and in groups. It helps the students obtain direct experience from scientific spirit and attitude, grasp basic scientific methods, improve the ability of using knowledge and solving practical problems.Now days, "Inquiring Study" are being carried out in all Senior high schools and some Junior schools, even in Primary schools. After studying lots of documents materials, we find few Secondary Vocational Schools have begun the "Inquiring Study". In the following thesis, the author tries to analyze the present "Inquiring Study" in China and other countries and elaborates the necessity and possibility of this new style in Secondary Vocational Schools.The "Inquiring Study" based on the "constructivism Theory" and "Multiple Intelligence Theory". The main feature is the independence and research of learning, opening, cooperation and reflection of learning process, the practice and comprehensiveness of learning content etc. In Secondary Vocational School, the general education goal of "Inquiring Study" is to raise the students' ability of finding problems, solving problems and dealing with information. It emphasizes the improvement of the students' professional quality and ability. It helps students to sum up interrelatedknowledge, build up reasonable cognitive structure, learning to share and cooperate with others.The experimental process is divided into six phases, they are planning, task selecting, checking, implementing, demonstrating and summing-up, evaluating and reflecting. The students begin the task with real life, observe the interrelated phenomenon in their life, raise questions and decide tasks. This is the key point in the whole process.
