Abstract Innovation ability, which has been highly promoted by theknowledge-based economy, is very important for the development of both theindividual and the society. Accordingly, innovation ability training has become one ofthe most important tasks of modern education. As teachers'innovation ability directlyinfluences the effect of innovation education, the development of teachers'educational ability of innovation seems to be an urgent affair.In this study, the author has done such work as defining the concept of teachers'educational ability of innovation, investigating and analyzing, emphasizing thenecessity and urgency of training the teachers' educational ability of innovation. Theauthor has also discussed the formation,constitution and structure of teachers'educational ability of innovation, and put forward the basic training approaches of it:Firstly, pre-professional education, that is, carrying out a series of special trainings innormal academic schools. Secondly, in-service development, namely, carrying aseries of vocational training including theories,teaching skills, let the teachersacquaint with, comprehend and make use of the innovation education gradually, andhelp them to possess the educational ability of innovation ultimately. Thirdly, utilizingaction research of reviewing and independence, the teachers can step out of theconstraint of traditional education. Fourthly, improving the educational ability ofinnovation in every day's teaching practice, which can be connected with the currentcourse reform. In the end of the text, the author carries on the preliminary studytowards the evaluation method of the innovation education ability.
