Currently, research university of our country is in the course of forming and developing, Higher education, mass- ification , knowledge economy ,scientific and technical innovation require these universities making the transition to the research university to train high-quality talents. In order to train high-quality talents, these universities must have the course systems which is dynamic and developingSince 1876 , U.S.A. produced the first research university named John Hopkins University, the discussion to the undergraduate course system of foreign research university has never been disconnected .This dissertation probes into some riper characteristics and existing problems of foreign undergraduate course system of research university from the changes of the undergraduate course system of research university of Great Britain and USA Undergraduate course system of foreign research university can offer reference and enlightenment for undergraduate course system construction of universities making the transition to the research university of our country. While structuring the undergraduate course system of research university , it is necessary to review existing problem of the undergraduate course system of research university of foreign countries, so that our country can avoid these problems while structuring the undergraduate course system of research university, can create the achievement which exceed the foreign research university , even open up the new direction of undergraduate course system development of research university.The undergraduate course system of these university making transition to the research university still exists a great deal of problems, this dissertation analyses the existing problem and reasons of production , putting forward the theoretical foundation and principle of structuring the undergraduate course system of research university with Chinese characteristics. Through classified the undergraduate course system of foreign research university in a systematic and all-round way and reviewing existing problems of the undergraduate course system of theseuniversity making transition to the research university ,the writer trys to structure the development blueprint of the undergraduate course system of research university of our country.
