The motive of history study is a kind of power that encourages middle school students to learn history and achieve some goals; It is essential to study history. It include two part, one is inner power, the other is factor of encouraging, and have the functions that stimulating, guiding mediating and evaluating.The history study needs high quality motive .the mass of Chinese mid school students are short of motive in history study. The motive is affected by history teach style, teach content and examination; the interest of study history is affected as well by position of history study, edition of textbook , and teach method of teacher. And that function of history study such as shaping physical and mental health, good personality and qualified citizenship require students have high quality motive to learn history.Increasing the motive need the guide of theory, The NEED LAYER, REINFORSE, EGO EFFICIENCY, SUCCESS MOTIVE, and FIND RESAON and so on can guide hoe to increase the motive to learn history.According the theory of learning, at the beginning we should research, analyze, meet and rectify the students; during the period of teaching, we should encourage the students' success motive and sense of efficiency, use intensified methods to increase motive; the strategies to keep the motive is strengthening the goal of history learning and the success stabilizing.Increase the motive to learn history should be established in the practice of history teaching. We should use different strategies in different circumstances in the field of the field of the methods to increase the motive to learn history.
