A Survey On Study Motive Of Secondary Vocational School Students Majoring In Sports

This study is both a reflection of the author’s work of ten years teaching experience and a theoretical examination of the contradiction of studying and training in sports schools and status quo of the combination of sports and education.Secondary vocational school students majoring in sports, mostly in the age of14-18-year, whose learning aspirations and goals are more vague than the average, have been training from their childhood in sports, which result in relatively poor performance on general knowledge courses and the low level or lack of motivation leading to their sluggishness on studing.For this purpose, I choose the thesis on studying motives of secondary vocational school students majoring in sports, focusing on students of Inner Mongolia Vocational College of Physical Education. The main methods of this study adopt literature review, questionnaire and mathematical statistics. In reference to the related topics of previous studies, I questioned338students in Inner Mongolia Vocational College of Physical Education whose major ranging from Athletics, Ball Games to Gymnastics and Wrestling etc.Through the questionnaire, I try to analyze both the subjective and the objective factors of the low motive of the students’ study on general knowledge courses. At the same time, I suggested some preventive countermeasure against the main variable in attempt to improve their performance on general knowledge courses by enhancing their motive level, which is an access to integrated development of secondary vocational school students and an adamant cultural and vocational foundation of future re-employment for athletes. Meanwhile, I wish this study be a good reference for sports colleges on improving their teaching qualities.
