A textbook is one of the most important course resources, a media of performing a course and the core of a course. For ages, researches on Chinese textbook for vocational schools have been carried out slowly and unsystematically. With the further reforms in fundamental courses in vocational schools, it is increasingly important in researching its textbook. Teachers are no longer inactive performers, but should be important textbook researchers. It is essential for teachers to go further into the exploration of a textbook, which is good for both teachers and the courses. With the recognition of the course's nature and of the training aims, the thesis analyses the features of the textbook on its design, text-selecting, exercise design and ways of display, which is based on the textbook for vocational schools by Jiangsu Education Publishing House in 2001. In addition, it lists some problems composed in this edition, including features of a textbook designed for vocational schools to be focused on, materials to be extended, questions about a text to be bettered, text-order to be arranged logically and text-selection to be systematical, etc. The thesis focuses on the above problems and practically discusses some teaching strategies concerning about them, such as integrating texts, arranging practical activities, composing optional textbooks, establishing optional topics and so on. Finally, some opinions are raised about the textbook revisions. The thesis analyses the textbook in detail and systematically, which is convenient for teachers to make good use of it. Besides, some practical advice is given on the revision of the textbook, which is helpful to write a vocational and local-characteristic textbook of the times.
