The article explains peer interaction characteristics of the urban high school students and the current situation of its development by studying the quality of the friendship between urban high school students and peer interaction characteristics. And we discovered the factors that have effects on peer relations. Also we raised solutions to improve the relations with the fellow students. In this study we surveyed 730 high school students from senior one to senior three from five senior schools in Liaoyang, Liaoning province with my own version of"Peer Relationship questionnaire"as the test tool. The results show that: (1) Friendship quality differs in grade and gender (2) Students ranking 11 to 15 have stronger interpersonal communication skills and have higher friendship quality than other students. The wishes of contacts with others are significantly positively related to their family happiness. (4) Students usually make friends paying attention to each other's internal quality, the congenial temperament, etc instead of external appearance and family conditions. They hate those who are selfish, narrow-minded, and look down upon others. (5) The sources and the number of peers and the ways of contacts with others differ in grade and gender. (6) 30% of high school students in peer interaction are obviously sexual orientation, which has shown the grade and the gender difference.
