Geared to the 21st century education reform and development, especially in the field of basic education, raising the professional level of teachers is a critical issue. With the development of multimedia and network technology, the integration of information technology and teacher education has brought unprecedented new opportunity for the teacher professional development. This paper presents the use of multimedia and network technology to support the teaching skills study and practice for pre-service teachers. On the foundation, the author develops a teaching skill support system for pre-service teachers.Case study,situated cognition and teaching self-examination are the rationales of this support system. It's designed according to the teacher practicality knowledge and the cognition characteristics of the pre-service teachers, and is developed by the multi-media and network technology. The teaching skill support system is an auxiliary tool and environment, providing an approach for pre-service teachers carrying out teaching skills study outside the classroom.This system is just auxiliary to the present teaching skills cultivation. In order to making up the defects of the scene observation and discussion, it requires to be organically combined with them. This system includes three main functions: The first aspect is the demonstration and discussion of teaching skills, by the way of expounding the theory and demonstrating the operating methods. The second aspect is teaching case video broadcasting, providing entire classroom teaching inspection and discussion. The third aspect is pre-service teachers'microteaching case video playing, putting up the platform for watching and estimating self and others'microteaching.There are five main parts in this thesis. Chapter one is exordium. The background, research meanings, research contents, research methods and concepts definitions are all in this part. Chapter two is a synthetic survey. It's includes the basic theories, the analysis of the current status about pre-service teachers'education and related studies at home and abroad. Chapter three and four are the important parts of this thesis. Chapter three describes the designs of the system, including the structure design, theoretical framework design, function design and database design. Chapter four introduces the technologies related to the implementation and the key parts of the system. Chapter five is the summary of the thesis and future expectation. In a word, this research puts forward exploration from theory to practice for using multi-media and network technology to carry out the training of pre-service teachers'teaching skills. As a study platform after school, this system can improve the present training methods, raise the information accomplishment of pre-service teachers, and structure a study community. While supporting the teaching skills'study, it also provides beneficial enlightenment for normal schools.
