The compilation works of teaching materials can be seen as one of the foundation of the education curriculum innovation. The music teaching material plays a vital role in the education of junior high school as an important material carrier of teaching. This article starts from a brief introduction of music teaching material development history in China, then, in aims of discovering the problems which exists in the present Junior High School music teaching materials and analyzing the requirements or influence which generated by the interaction among the teaching materials, teachers and students, the author regards《Full-Time Music Education Curriculum Standards (Experimental Version)》as a main reference and, chooses three versions of Junior High School music teaching materials (RenYin Version, RenJiao Version and SuJiao Version) as research subjects. Moreover, besides the research on those actual survey data which collected from teachers and students that comes from six Junior High Schools, analysis works have been done through comparing the resource, knowledge framework and the system structure of teaching materials. Hope that this study can provide some valuable reference on the compilation of Junior High School music teaching materials. And hope it can provide more objective and feasibility recommendations to the construction of the basic music education materials.
