Classical poem is one important constitute of Chinese ancient literature and one of excellent traditional cultures in China. It has long history, rich content and deep strong national characteristics. It is the valuable heritage of world national culture. Being the descendants of the yellow Emperor, we are obliged to preserve and pass it for good and all. Being an excellent national culture heritage, it is included in Chinese education and teaching as an important content, and is covered in College Entrance Examination, hoping to arouse students' enthusiasm in classical poems and attention to classical poem learning. However scoring rate of appreciation of classical poem has always been low, mainly because students's poem appreciation ability is poor. There are lots of reasons for that, but the key is that currently many teachers in many schools don't attach importance to cultivation of students' poem appreciation ability. The most common opinion is that cultivation of classical poem appreciation ability takes time and efforts, but deliver little results. The practice of not attaching importance to classical poem appreciation is extremely wrong. This paper provides opinions on cultivation of ancient poem appreciation ability, hoping to find methods and ways to improve students' poem appreciation ability, to lay a solid foundation for students overall development, and make contributions to succession of classical poems.This paper includes four chapters.Chapter One is Introduction. It briefly introduces purpose and significance, current status, scope and methods of study on theme selection.Chapter Two describes ways to cultivate senior high school classical poem appreciation ability, mainly from three aspects, cultivation of learning enthusiasm, enrichment of life experiences and improvement of aesthetic judgment. It aims at finding a practical way to cultivate senior high school classical poem appreciation ability and make students' learning easy and effective.Chapter Three mainly discusses specific methods of improving senior high school classical poem appreciation ability. There are lots of ways to improve classical poem appreciation ability, which are not listed one by one here in this paper due to limited space. Based on students cognizing rules and my years of teaching experience, this paper explains from four aspects, sensing of language, grasping of artistic conception, understanding of false or true, and cognizing of literary quotation. It focuses on analyzing and coaching training, hoping to achieve satisfactory results in effective ways, and to help students shape stronger poem appreciation ability and be able to address issues encountered in appreciation of classical poem.Chapter Four lists issues need to be concerned in high school poem teaching since they are closely related to cultivation of poem appreciation. It discusses transition of teaching from junior high school to senior high school, emphases on fostering of self-learning awareness, clarifies teacher's responsibility and training on regulate answering. Pay attention to influence of non-intellect factors on students' learning. It also provides specific solutions to problems that are easily occurred in learning and ability training.The final part is conclusion. It summarizes the content after re-examination of the paper and further clarifies the ideas.
