With the deepening of the new curriculum reform, teachers, as the first line executors of the education reform, become the focus of the communities. At the same time, class teachers, as the backbone of the group of teachers, have also become the center of society. Therefore, how to really promote the professional development of class teacher becomes another hot topic concern in the field of education. From the perspective of the individual class teacher, the article talks about the professional development of class teacher, that the individual teacher continuously upgrades, develops and improves his internal professional quality, and becomes a high-level professional educator.In this study, through investigating five Tin Ka Ping middle schools in Gansu Province, the writer expects to understand the current status of class teacher's professional development in middle school, and to find the problems of class teacher's professional development in middle school.Though the survey, the writer found that the current class teachers in middle schools have the following outstanding issues in their professional development: first, class teachers lack professional awareness of class work before they became class teachers; second, class teachers have low work initiative; third, class teachers lack the appropriate professional knowledge and expertise; fourth, pre-employment training and vocational training need to be strengthened; fifth, school leaders lack the support for class teacher's professional development; sixth, class teachers have low professional accomplishment. Based on in-depth analysis, the writer comes up with the following countermeasures: first of all, teacher-students'pre-training should be strengthened in normal university; second, educational administrative departments should establish long-term training mechanisms and initiative effective professional training; third, school leaders should foster the awareness to promote class teacher's professional development and supply class teachers with the platform; fourth, class teachers should also enhance their awareness of self-development; fifth, educational administrative departments should establish a scientific appraisal system for class teachers; last but not at least, multiple and unimpeded parent-school communication channels should be established.
