Junior students are in a special time of mental development towards adolescent, which changes them in mentality and physic. It will make students more confident and adapt to future life if their abilities that deal with interpersonal relation are guided. The paper designs group counseling activities, and intervenes new students'interpersonal relation's level hoping to make students better and faster adaptation to school life according to junior students'characteristics of mental development and interpersonal relation.Firstly, the study elaborates junior students'characteristics of development in theory; Secondly it summarizes their characteristics of interpersonal relation and adaptation to school; Thirdly it explains concepts of the group counseling and methods; Finally; conclusion is summed up that it is necessary to group counseling about interpersonal relation for junior students which provides theoretical basis for class group counseling's implementation.The study's process is as follows: Experimental and control group are respectively tested by the student adaptation questionnaire which is used as evaluation tool before group counseling, which is called pretest; The class as experience group attend the 8 interpersonal groups counseling activities, while the others do nothing; experience and then two groups are tested, which is called post-test. We try to study whether students'adaptation is changed or not, and their extend by vertical comparison of two groups.Conclusions of the study are as follows:(1)The interpersonal group counseling program has a positive effect on junior students'ability of adaptation to school. (2)Results are revealed that junior students have some problems such as poor adaptation, and no self-confidence ,self-centered and no trust others are mainly reasons.(3)The program not only improves students'adaptation; but also more understand and express themselves and them own views.(4)We find that it is necessary to counsel junior students about interpersonal relation.Situations are summarized that are obtained in the process of group counseling by practices of teaching, so the discussion of the study focuses on problems that are obtained in the process of group counseling of junior student's relationship and group activities that students like. In addition, helpful suggestions are offered for researchers in this area.
