Along with the rapid development of global science and technology and unprecedented prosperity of industrial civilization, the depredation and destruction of nature caused by human beings has reached an unprecedented level. Global ecological crisis is severe day by day, and ecological environment problem become the focus of the study of scholars. Domestic and foreign scholars have come to study works of Marx and Engels in order to find the way to solve the ecological crisis. Marx’s ecological outlook of nature based on practice and the relationship between man and nature, and its content and philosophy are very broad and meaningful. In view of this, this article interprets Marx’s ecological thought and discusses its contemporary meaning.Except for introduction, there are four parts in this paper.The first part mainly explains the historical development process of Marx’s ecological outlook of nature. In this paper, thinking the combining history and logic, and based on reading a lot of Marx’s works, the author discusses respectively the concept of nature from four different dimensions of ontology, epistemology, value and theory of history, and mainly analyses the historical development process of Marx’s ecological outlook of nature. The second part expounds in detail philosophy revolution and main contents of Marx’s ecological outlook of nature. Firstly, the author expounds the thought’s source of Marx’s relationship between man and nature, and criticizes Hegel’s and Feuerbach’s outlook of nature. Then article interprets Marx’s ecological outlook of nature from his explication of the relationship between man and nature. Nature is the material premise of human’s existence and development. Labor is the medium of material exchange between nature and human. Marx criticized the capitalism and its production way, revealed the damagement of nature caused by the capitalism. Marx advocated the establishment of the communist society, eliminates the contradiction between human and nature, and realizes the comprehensive and coordinated development of man and nature.The third part mainly analyses the basic characteristic of Marx’s ecological thought. Practice is the foundation stone of Marxism. Marx’s ecological thought realized the unity of nature concept and history concept. The origin and destination of Marx’s ecological thought both are human. Besides, about the ecological problem, Marx considered we should carry the problem from institution reformation and scientific progress, which can realizes sustainable development and ecological civilization.The fourth part mainly expounds the contemporary value of Marx’s ecological outlook of nature based on the front three parts. Article discusses mainly two aspects of the theoretical significance and practical significance. Marx’s ecological outlook of nature gives us the overall direction of handling correctly the relationship between man and nature, and provides us with the methodology basis of value choice in choosing the survival way. Based on Chinese reality, Marx’s ecological outlook of nature has very important practical significance in solving the existing ecological environment problems, carrying out scientific development conception, realizing the harmonious unity between human and nature and people’s overall development, and promoting construction of ecological civilization. Marx’s ecological outlook of nature is the necessary theoretical guidance in promoting the construction of socialist ecological civilization in China. Chinese construction of socialist ecological civilization is the inheritance and development of Marx’s ecological outlook of nature, and is the best and most powerful practice of Marx’s ecological thought.
