With the rapid economic and social development, the complexity ofpublic administration is also growing. The public expect and supervisemore on the public service. Therefore, working pressure of civil servantshas been risen far more than before. The study mainly discusses therelationship between pressure constitution and job performance of civilservants. Personality traits are introduced as the buffer variable.The study is gradually conducting on theoretical analysis abiding byresearch hypothesis, development and revision of scale and statisticalanalysis of datum, enclosing three core conceptions which are jobpressure, personality traits and performance. Civil servants are the objectof study, which adopts methods of literature review, interview,questionnaire survey and statistical analysis.189of250questionnaireshave been recovered. Descriptive statistical analysis, variance analysis,reliability and validity analysis, correlation analysis and multipleregression analysis are efficiently processed by PASW18.0. The study has come to three conclusions. Firstly, there is significant correlationbetween various dimensions of job pressure and performance and there ispositive and negative impact of points as well. Secondly, there issignificant correlation between personality traits and performance.Thirdly, buffer action of personality traits works on the job pressure toperformance.On the basis of empirical study, the thesis also offers relatedsuggestion and advice. We’d better keep the positive pressure level ofcivil servants, reduce negative pressure and guide their personality traitscorrectly so as to promote the performance.
