In2007, our country published a new policy:Free normal education policy, for training excellent teachers for primary and secondary school.In June,2012, the second batch of free normal students will leave normal colleges to join education profession. Professional selfidentity is individual positive evaluation to their profession, it overcome the professional exogenous, alien feeling, and Integrate one’s own personal value with the value of one’s career, the power of professional work produced by professional selfidentity possess more self-consciousness and initiative enthusiasm. Teachers’ professional identity is professional identity outspread in the education field, it is teachers’ positive evaluation to the teaching profession, it is under the influence of individual, environment and profession. Education practice is normal students’ most important education experience before join education profession, and the important organic component of the normal education.This article utilize questionnaire investigation and interview, to investigation teachers’ professional identity of free normal students in southwest university before and after the education practice. Research found that free normal students of our college have high levels of teachers’ professional identity, and education practice did not promote the professional identity. Instead, after education practice, job expectancy and occupational emotion significantly lower. Specifically manifested in:teachers are respected in low degree in the current social, teachers professional is low social position, and students are not high satisfied with h the teacher’s salary. In our survey also found that:boys of teachers’ professional identity significantly lower than the girls, it is a same conclusion with previous studies. Free normal education is not only a national policy for cultivating excellent teachers, at the same time, most of free normal students are outstanding ones in the university entrance exam, they have aptitude to through normal education to become a good teacher and educator in the future, it needs our normal school make innovation and hard in curriculum, teaching practice and so on, it also needs to understand the psychological situation of free normal students, cultivate their teacher professional beliefs. Take the opportunity of education practice, establish education practice standards, strengthen the cooperation with practice base, and prompt students do role transformation, firm professional beliefs. Based on the problems of this study, the state should raise teacher’s social status, through education and publicity, create a good atmosphere of respecting the teachers, in addition,the teacher salary is also a problem to be solved, only teachers’professional get identity by social and individual,collective, can promote educational enterprise development.
