The aim of studying physics is more to help students learn how to learn, how to explore, and how to apply than to acquire physics knowledge. Scientific exploration is not only the goal of students’study but also an important means of teaching. Now it is brought into line with the criteria of physics course, aimed at shifting the focus of knowledge acquisition and accumulation to knowledge exploration, passive study to active study, thus developing students’ability of scientific exploration, fostering their attitudes of being realistic and practical as well as cultivating their spirits of being creative.With the development of science, computers are widely used. On the other hand, conventional teaching approaches can’t meet the need of the requirements in senior high shcools. Therefore, MCAI, multimedia computer assisted instruction, is playing a more and more important role in physics teaching, which is also an essential means of inquiry teaching. However,the application of multimedia in teaching is limited to some basic functions of the media, such as PPT, cartoon techniques and some media players, which can’t satisfy the advanced teaching needs. To solve this problem,this thesis introduces a classroom response system noting machine, Clicker, which is widely used in teaching in America.Based on the author’s one-year teaching practice in grade one in No,5senior high school in Huangpi, this thesis first explores the importance of inquiry teaching and introduces the application of Clicker in inquiry teaching as well as in helping design physics questions.Then by comparing the collected data on the students’s enthusiasm attitudes and their scores in the final examination form the control group and the experimental group, this thesis safely draws a conclusion that use of Clicker in physics teaching can highly motivate students and has a positive effect on their enthusiasm, their understanding and their construction of knowledge.
