On The Cultivation Of College Students’ Realm Of Life

Realm of life is the core content of Chinese traditional culture. As the internalization ofachievement and essence of cognition, it marks the level of individual spirit accomplishment andthe political consciousness. Being builders and successors of socialist modernization cause, thecollege students are the future and hope of whole nation. So the overall realms of the collegestudents are directly related to whether China can take the invincible position in the competitionwith other countries in the world. Therefore, to attach great importance to the cultivation of realm oflife for the college students will meet not only the need for the maturity of their personality, but alsothe need for the realization of socialism with Chinese characteristics. However, the cultivation oflife realm for college students will not be accomplished overnight; instead it is a pretty long andcomplex process. Firstly, at home, parents should bridge the gap with college students，strengthenthe exchange and communication with them, grasp their ideological trend, give them the correctpsychological counseling and remediation, while parents should also strive to improve their ownmorals and ethics, and try to create a family environment conducive to the cultivation of collegestudents’ realm of life. Secondly, in university, the teacher needs to constantly improve theircomprehensive qualities, to play a model role, and to create a positive and optimistic campuscultural atmosphere. Finally, the relevant departments should perfect the relevant laws andregulations, strengthen the social binding, and try to reduce ugly phenomenon in society in order toconstruct favorable external social circumstances for the cultivation of college students’ realm oflife.By reference to the existing academic achievements in this field, this paper systematicallydiscusses the cultivation of realm of life for the college students in depth through the literatureresearch method, questionnaire survey method and case interview method. In the first place, by theanalysis of the etymology of “realm of life”, the intension of it is identified and its social functionsand individual functions are specified. Secondly, the content of college students’ realm of life isgiven a simple description, based on which, an analysis of present state of realms of life for collegestudents is made through the questionnaire and case interview. Finally, the principles and effectiveapproaches for cultivation of college students’ realm of life are put forward to.
