Since2002, the government department such as the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science&Technology has issued many documents about academic honesty to the universities, which were asked to strengthen the management of academic honesty and promote the construction of style of study. After the efforts from government and universities, it has obviously shown the effect on management of academic honesty, but the problem was not worked out fundamentally. As the main field of scientific research, the universities have great responsibility and its condition of academic honesty relating to the scientific power of the country and the figure of the country in the global scientific world. The academic misconduct in universities is harmful to the scientific innovation strength and contradictory to the spirit of science, so it is imperative to find the reform way of management system on academic honesty.This dissertation is composed of six parts:Chapter I introduced the background of this research, the status of academic management, the function of university, the modern management system of university. After the introduction of research background, some more information of the study was shown, such as the purpose and significances, the literature review at home and abroad, the thinking, and the method used.Chapter II was about the theoretical discussion, in which several concepts like academic honesty, academic management and the management system of academic honesty were defined and the basic theories were introduced, such as the function theory of universities on scientific research, professional ethics of teachers, and management of behavioral science.Chapter III described the condition of management problems on academic honesty, and summarized these reasons, which were the conflicts between moral constraint and system effect, academic freedom and management system, and the affect of the social morality.Chapter IV was a case study of academic misconduct at Zhejiang University. The author summarized the useful lessons by analyzed the whole event, which could support the following strategies in the next chapter. Chapter V was the strategies and advices on academic management, which contained the promotion on formal and informal management system. Based on the existing system, the non-governmental supervisory organ and academic evaluation were recommended. At the same time, the spirit culture construction of university was asked by building the academic unity and academic model.Chapter VI was the conclusion of this study, in which the author summarized several conclusions and analyzed the shortage of the study, then discussed the direction and possibility for further study on this field. In this study, the lack of quantitative analysis impaired the value of strategies and advices related.
