| Children’s folk games are a part of Chinese traditional folk culture. The content is close to the children’s real lives and corresponds with their psychological development. So, they are popular with kids. However, there are lots of limits that affect the practice of the folk games such as space density, structure, time duration and so on. Therefore, creating an ideal game setting based on current conditions can guarantee the carrying out of the game.This research is based on the method of qualitative research.I chose A-kindergarten in AnJi County, HuZhou City, ZheJiang as a case. At the same time, I adopted Archinal Research and Participant Observation. I also interviewed people and collected real folk game materials used in the environment to analyze the problems existing in the environmental construction and put forward some suggestions of physical environment folk games.This study found that the following problems existed in the physical environment construction of folk games in A-kindergarten:1. The time duration of the game is too short,every folk game is less than30minutes,also the frequency of the game is very low;2. The space for folk games is too narrow;3. Wall decoration for folk games has lots of problems,such as teacher do most of decoration instead of childrenã€most of the wall space is ornamental;4. The process of making the game materials seems too adult,children don’t have chance to make the materials by themselves.The research comes up with some suggestions to the problems with regards to four aspects:First,attach importance to folk games. Extend the duration time of the games;Second,make full use of indoor and outdoor playgrounds. Expand the game space area;Third,pay attention to the use of modern environmental creation concepts. Create a reasonable wall space environment;Fourth,reinforce children participation in the production of folk games’materials. Let children become the main body of homemade toys. |
