Prose is an unrhymed article which is based on interpreted writing skills.Authors express thems with their personal views, writing styls, methods and tones to reflect the characteristics of freedom in form,likeness in spirit".Contemporary Prose Reading has been the important and difficult points in teaching in senior high school.After the implementing of the new curriculum reform,it has an increased proportion in textbooks for senior high school with a higher status.Furthermore,the standards of curriculum attaches much importance on literature reading and raises an obvious and concrete requirement.Our contemporary prose works are all excellent,A Figure Viewed From Behind by Zhu Zi Qing moved so many people to tears.The standards of curriculum demand us to read excellent literature works to develop our imagination,enjoy the beauty of and experience the colorful life and nature while leading,so that the ability of reading and appreciation will be developed,thetemperament will be moulded,the morality will be profound.Many students and study of the contemporary prose and obtained some achievements in the process of new curriculum reform,but some problems remain to be discussed and solved. This article will mainly discuss the definition characteristics classifying of prose,writers’works and the current situation of teaching and study and then put forward my own teaching strategy as well as to teach some reading skills to students,hoping to stimulate studentsto study prose actively by reading,imagination,tasting,appreciating and evaluating and fully feel.tap and grasp its beauty so as to improve the current situation of the contemporary prose teaching in senior high school.
