With the advance of the information age, the IT (Information Technology) isdramatically changing the way we live and study, but also has brought newopportunities and challenges to the education. In order to cultivate the talent who suitthe needs of the times, all the countries in the world have issued a series ofmathematics teaching reform policies and measures to speed up the pace of theirmathematics teaching reform.In order to meet the challenges of the information society in21th century, theintegration of IT and mathematics curriculum has become the new viewpoint ofChina’s mathematics education reform. It has a significant impact on the educationconcept, education goals, teaching content, teaching forms as well as learning andteaching modes of mathematics.Firstly, the paper discusses the problem posing, research purpose andsignificance, research thinking and methods from the aspects such as historicalbackground, the impact that the development of information the technology onmathematics reform, and so on. Secondly, analyzing the domestic and foreigninternational studies review, and finding out the problems and causes in method ofliterature. Abroad has carried on integration research about information technologyand new mathematics curriculum implementation actively, and made some basicexperiments. Achieving some positive effects, but also having some problems, such ascalculation ability of students weakening, integration paid more attention to pre-classand post-class, etc. China is more emphasis on the in-class integration, obtainingachievement, but also having problems, such as improper using multi-media,communication network is not much pre-class and post-class, etc. And then discussesthe integration theoretical ideas from four aspects such as the modern learningtheories, the modern teaching theories, education media theories,as well as the basicprinciples of the integration of IT and new mathematics curriculum implementation inprimary and secondary schools.Then putting18primary and middle schools in Gansu province as an example inStratified Sampling, through questionnaire survey, getting data, analyzing andarranging, obtaining the present situation and questions: mathematics teachers have changed in concept and actions on the integration, and had new exploration andharvest in the practice, but the effects be not very ideal; schools and related educationdepartments gave backing to investigation, but the teachers generally reflectedresources were not sufficient; there are some problems in integration process, such asteachers’ information technology capabilities are not strong, mathematics teachingsoftware yet to be developed, mathematics teaching resources still need to rich, and soon. According to the integration theoretical ideas, the study puts forward to effectiveintegration ways and strategies: transforming mathematics teachers’ concept on theintegration; strengthening the mathematics teachers’ training to improve theirinformation literacy; enhancing comprehensive practice of integration; using effectiveevaluation of integration; basing on reality, try to realize a lifelong learning.At last, reaching conclusions and suggestions, and putting forward the shortagesof the study and the problems for the further research. Conclusion: mathematicsteachers have paid more attention to the new curriculum reform, and upgradedthemselves in the integration; mathematics teachers’ theory understanding about theintegration still needs to deepen; mathematics teachers’ practice operation about theintegration still needs to be improved. Suggestions: strengthen the construction of thehardware facilities and using supervision in remote districts; rich mathematicsteachers’ teaching resources about integration; schools and education administrativedepartment should provide further technology and practice supports about integration.
