With the acceleration of mass higher education and the establishment of layered classification system of modern universities, a large number of newly built undergraduate colleges and universities are repositioned the transformation and development. In the process of transformation, the core problem for teaching universities aiming to transform themselves into teaching and research universities is knowledge labor from single knowledge teaching to inquiry, integration and application of knowledge. Therefore, the original single grassroots academic organizations obviously can not meet the colleges and universitiesā€™development orientation. It is an urgent need for colleges and universities to transform the form of organization and the division of labor in grassroots knowledge labor of university organizations. It will be conducive to transfer the grassroots organization system from knowledge transmission to knowledge creation, to transfer knowledge division of labor based on social occupation division orientation of professional education to scientific research of knowledge classification system orientation as the basis to create the university internal organization and operation mechanism. In order to improve the traditional grassroots academic organization, it is an urgent need for teaching universities to strengthen the subject construction by this time. However, how to improve subject construction has become the key to school transformation and update because the teaching universities now are during the special period of transformation. The key point of this research is to focus on subject construction during the process of transformation of teaching universities, make an attempt at summarizing the experience of subject construction on the basis of case analysis of Silviculture in Zhejiang A&F University and provide reference for other teaching universities.The main content of this research includes six parts:the first part discusses the background, significance and methods of this research; the second part mainly discusses the connotation of teaching university transformation; the third part mainly elaborates the connotation and features of subject construction in teaching universities and emphasizes the significance of subject construction to teaching university transformation; the fourth part utilizes the life cycle theory of university subject organization to make an exhaustive analysis of the development of Silviculture in Zhejiang A&F University and understands the subject construction conditions in different periods, systematically analyzes the basic characteristics and evolution of subject construction during the process of teaching university transformation as well as summarizes the subject construction experience and the important effect for school development; according to the practical situation of subject construction in the process of transformation of present teaching universities, the fifth part puts forward subject construction suggestions for teaching universities which are in the process of transformation from school, academy and subject levels; the last part summarizes the research and gets a clear perspective for further research content in the future.After the six parts expounding above, the research demonstrates that subject construction is important work for the teaching universities which are during the process of transformation. Through the analysis of huge success of Silviculture subject construction in Zhejiang A&F University, the research sums up the subject construction experience of Zhejiang A&F University in the transformation process. Meanwhile, it gives the suggestions for subject construction of teaching university transformation strategy:from the school level, to improve the strategic position of subject construction based on the school conditions; to innovate the subject construction mechanism based on reality; to focus on the subject and perfect the comprehensive evaluation system; from the academy level, to do well the subject construction planning; to strengthen the subject construction supervision; to improve the subject construction performance management; from the subject level, to concise distinctive research direction; to select excellent academic leaders; to set up a complete subject echelon; to build a high level of subject platform; to improve the culture construction of subject system.
