With China’s rapid economic development, knowledge-intensive and technology-intensive industries increased, and the social demand for talent is diversified. Nowadays, higher education in China is developing into popular education. In order to better adapt to needs of all levels of society, most of undergraduate’s personnel training has been changed from elite-based to applied-based. Discussing applied undergraduate talents-training model become an important research subject on reform and management in higher educationThis paper uses methods of literature, comparison and survey. In this study, universities in China are classified, and its type of talent is made a distinction, as well as different levels of applied talent are analyzed.This study’s main target is defined as applied undergraduate talents-training model. First, related concepts are defined, and the study elaborates theoretical bases-the humanistic education and competency-based education. Secondly, giving a brief introduction and comparison on applied undergraduate talents-training mode of Germany, the United States and Britain, and making a few points to learn from. Thirdly, the study analyzes main problems of applied undergraduate talents-training model, including training objectives in personnel training, specialty, teaching system and practice teaching. Finally, the study gives the proposal to improve applied undergraduate talents-training model and its security conditions, hoping to play a reference on training of applied talents in china.
