Extracurricular reading is an important content of Chinese teaching,which is also an extension and development to classroom knowledge. It is aneffective learning approach to improve the language literacy of primaryschool students. Baiyunebo mine lot located in the Northern frontier of ourmotherland with rich rare earth mineral resources, which is honored as“Township of the world’s rare earth”. In such a fertile mining area, the numberof the population is less, the number of the resident population is eighteenthousand, while the number of the floating population is nearly ten thousandby the end of2012. In the face of the complex population structure in themining, the one to three graders’ modern text extracurricular reading situationis worrying. The overall situation is not optimistic.The thesis is divided in to three parts. The first part is introduction. Itgives a brief summary about the importance of the study about the subject ofone to three graders extracurricular reading, the particularity of primaryschool students in mine lot and the practical significance of researching inreading. The deacons part is the main body.The author had an investigationabout the situation of the one to three graders extracurricular reading by theform of questionnaire in Baiyunebo mining’s only three primary schools,interviewed10language teachers in grades one to three, looked up a largenumber of materials of the relevant topics and combined with his own realityas well as the view of the subject in order to serious study the educationsubject of Baiyunebo mining one to three students outside reading.The paperfocuses on this particular age period, the one to three graders different levelsof demands for outside reading and elaborates from stimulating students’interest in reading, mastering reading methods, developing good readinghabits. By analyzing the education gap between mining area and city properand with a view to the one to three graders actual reading situation. It putsforward that special attention should be paid to upgrade mining elementary school students reading ability.The government education departments werecalled for to increase input in reading. Parents, society, schools and variousaspects should form a resultant force to comprehensively promote the pupilreading education, and gradually improve the mining elementary schoolstudents reading ability.The paper gives a new way of thinking bysystematically providing guiding strategy to teacher reading education andparents reading guidance. The guiding strategy has the quality of pertinenceand practicability.The author strongly systematically analyzed the one to threegraders several reading problems such as, relatively narrowed readingcontents, relatively limited reading time, relatively single reading method, thelack of extracurricular reading guidance and the deficiency of basic readinginfrastructure,Meanwhile it gives original thinking to difficulties in readingand provides foundation to the mining lower grade students reading study inthe future and reflects education should care for the people and students’ need,fully understand students reading desire and interest, conforming to theelementary student’s own law of development, providing teaching experienceto the Chinese reading education for primary school students.At the sometime,he also considered other factors, through the investigation of the statusquo, found out problems, analyzed the reasons to the problem and at lastcombined with the actual to put forward effective strategies and fulfill theexpected target of the paper to improve the Baiyunebo mining students’reading ability.
