The construction project execution is one of the core competitiveness ofconstruction enterprises. Nowadays, the construction enterprises are facing a growingnumber of development challenges, such as the trend that the construction market isgradually opening up after China’s accession to the WTO, the construction status thatexcessive competition is increasingly fierce, the reality that the construction industryprofit is low for a long time. These challenges make the academia and the businesscommunity are concerned about how to improve project execution to enhance the corecompetitiveness of enterprises to maintain a competitive advantage.In view of this, this article research the influencing factor of construction projectexecution based on Structural equation model and discuss to improve it by applying thelean construction.Based on the theoretical study by execution and project execution, this articleclearly define the concept of project execution and the distinction between projectexecution and business execution, site management execution, strategy execution,government execution.Combination of literature and practical research, the paper argues that the projectgovernance structure, project execution mechanism, project management team, projectoperation team and project plan are the influencing factor of construction projectexecution.The study through questionnaires to collect the data of the influencing factor andproject execution performance. In the aspect of data analysis, this article examines thequestionnaire reliability and validity and weed out unsuitable observed indicators usingsmall sample data, and does confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation fittingwith the large sample data. Through data analysis, we also understand the relationshipbetween observed indicators and latent variables, the path between the influencingfactor as well as the path between the elements and execution performance. According to the fitting results, the nine hypotheses are supported by data and another isn’tsupported.Introducing the theory of lean construction, this study explores the contributionthat can be make to project execution by the basic theory and assistive technologies oflean construction.
