On English---Chinese Translation Of Financial Texts From The Perspective Of Skopostheorie

With the rapid development of the international trade and economic globalization, all the countries are strengthening their cooperation in financial area, and an increasing number of people in China want to know more about this field, but economists and financial experts are either too busy or not able to engage themselves in translating. Therefore, the demand for more translators to do this kind of job is on the rise. And this is one of the main reasons why I choose to translate such materials. As we all know, financial materials are concerned with many fields, such as political affairs, economy, and trade, as is proved by my translating experience. This thesis first gives a brief introduction to the main content of each of the articles I have translated, and relates the skopostheorie that has guided me in my translation, and then analyzes the main characteristics of the financial materials. The thesis focuses on describing the problems in my translating process, and gives a detailed account of the difficult parts and the methods and skills that I have adopted. Besides, it also describes my translating and modifying process, and my reflections on this job and the shortcoming thereof.
