The Research On The Model Of Urban Community Home-based Care For The Aged In South Jiangsu

With the increasing trend of the aging population in China, the retirementproblem has caused serious concern of all social sectors. The south of JiangsuProvince has entered into the aging society sixteen years earlier than the Nation. So inthis region, the research and practice of retirement service system modernization is soimportant. During the Eleventh Five-Year Plan, the building of the Social CareService System has achieved certain results. But compared with developed foreigncountries and economically developed areas inside, there are still many deficiencies.People have paid more attention to how to solve the contradiction between thegrowing material and spiritual demand of aged and the weak ability of social pensionand how to build a new retirement service system which is suitable for thedevelopment of South Jiangsu. In this context, it is worth researching the model ofurban community home-based care for the aged in South Jiangsu.This paper has five chapters. Chapter Ⅰ is about the conditions of the researchon community care for the aged, the research contexts and methods, and the conceptsand theories related with the urban community home-based care for the aged. ChapterⅡ is about the experiences of the community care from developed foreign countriesand economically developed areas inside. Chapter Ⅲ is about the situations of aging and retirement services in South Jiangsu, the comparative about the three models, thefamily care, the agency care and the community home-based care, and the conclusionthat urban community home-based care for the aged is the most suitable model forSouth Jiangsu in recent years. Chapter Ⅳ is about the building of the model of urbancommunity home-based care for the aged in South Jiangsu. There are six importantjobs should be done: strengthening government guidance, building communityorganization, establishing multi-agent community care system, improving multi-levelcommunity health care system, consolidating the position of home care, and fosteringnon-profit organizations. Chapter Ⅴ is about the conduction of the model of urbancommunity home-based care for the aged in South Jiangsu.
