In Modern Chinese Language (1997), Huang Borong and Liao Xudong definedJianyu Sentence as the following: The sentence in which Jianyu Structure serves aspredicate or makes an independent sentence is called Jianyu Sentence. As one specialkind of sentence structures in modern Chinese language, Jianyu Sentence expressesspecific concept, namely making someone else or something stay in a certaincondition or behavior. However, special meaning is not equal to infrequency of use. Indaily life, Jianyu Sentence is quite common and always appears in usual talking.Furthermore, scholars of Chinese language have shown great enthusiasm in it andmany of them have made thorough studies in the aspects of sentence structure,semantic feature and pragmatic function and have published many books and papersconcerning.In recent years, with the emergence and development of the subject of TeachingChinese as a Foreign Language, Jianyu Sentence has become increasingly importantin teaching and learning Chinese as a foreign language and also drawn great attentionfrom scholars of TCFL and researchers of Chinese language, who have found thatoverseas students always make errors like missing or adding Jianyu verbs or mixingwith other sentence structures while learning. Nowadays, some papers have doneresearches of Jianyu Sentence from the angle of TCFL, but it is not enough and thespecific studies of Jianyu Sentence Errors are far more less. Therefore, departing fromthe angle of TCFL and combining the achievements of other scholars, this thesis willmake analyses of Jianyu Sentence from the aspects of syntax, semantics, andpragmatics to tell it from other similar sentence structures. Moreover, according tothe examples from the dynamic database of HSK composition, this thesis will in detailand in general analyze the cases, types and reasons of Jianyu Sentence Errors so as togeneralize the deep reason of these errors. At last, the thesis will offer relatingsuggestions to help overseas students understand and grasp this grammar and avoiderrors.The thesis composes of five parts: The first part, introduction. This part starts from the reason of choosing the subjectand then briefly introduces the study situation of this subject, which includes: first,research summary of Jianyu Sentence from the angle of Chinese language; second,research summary of Jianyu Sentence from the angle of TCFL and error analyses. Andthen it will discuss the research ideas and methods with the supporting of relatinglinguistic theory.The second part, research of Jianyu Sentence of TCFL. This part will study the syntax,sematic and pragmatic features of Jianyu Sentence departing from the angle of TCFLand tell differences from other similar sentences.The third part, error analyses of Jianyu Sentence of TCFL. This part is important andalso is the longest part of the whole thesis. First, it will briefly introduce the examplesfrom the dynamic database of HSK composition. And then it will make thoroughstatistics and analyses of these examples and discuss the reasons of these errors anddiscover the deep reason of then as well.The fourth part, teaching strategies of Jianyu Sentence of TCFL. After clarifying thespecific reasons of Jianyu Sentence Errors, the author will make a generalization froma deep level and then offer some teaching strategies and suggestions so as to helpoverseas student to learn it.The fifth part, conclusion. This part make a conclusion of the whole thesis, such as itsacademic value, researching methods and deficiences to make a final conclusion.
