The talent training mode in China has transformed from elitist cultivation to masseducation in recent years. The number of graduates from universities and colleges wasup to6,600,000in2011, which was far beyond the market demands. As a major part ofhigher education, the employment problem is turning to be increasingly serious inhigher vocational colleges today. It is obviously significant to encourage highervocational college students to establish their own business so as to create moreemployment. Meanwhile the guidance mechanism constructed by the government,institutions and family together is quite necessary for the higher vocational collegestudents to achieve their pioneering work. Moreover, it is essential to play the positiveand exemplary roles of successful graduates in order to enhance the job competition inhigher vocational colleges. However, how to develop the higher vocational collegestudents’ abilities of innovative undertaking in entrepreneurship education has alwaysbeen being considered as a major issue to be explored.The significance of developing entrepreneurship education in higher vocationalcollege has two points. From national macroscopic perspective, it is intended to offerjob positions, decline the rate of unemployment, assure national security, guarantee thesocial material culture and enhance the national economy by helping college studentsto establish small and medium enterprises; And from the individual microscopic aspect,it means to compile teaching materials based on the framework of entrepreneurialtheories, entrepreneurial spirits, entrepreneurial abilities and skills by transforming thetraditional exam-oriented education concept and reforming the cramming teachingmethod. In accordance with the mainstream characteristics of the higher vocationalcollege students, it attempts to launch the teaching and guiding activities, cultivate thetheir entrepreneurial spirits and abilities, heighten their skills in entrepreneurship andinnovation, encourage them to start their own business and enjoy the entrepreneurialaccomplishment from the angles of policy making, public opinion, curriculum, collegefaculty cultivation, entrepreneurial culture, training platform, performance appraisal and family guidance, in which the new generation college students can learn muchfrom the successful entrepreneurial examples and arouse them to establish their ownbusiness.The research methods of documentation, questionnaires, analysis and summary havebeen adopted in the thesis to present a complete picture of the current situation ofentrepreneurship education as well as the research findings at home and abroad. Thecurrent situation of entrepreneurship and innovation education of higher vocationalcollege students and their corresponding competence have been investigated to revealand analyze the existing problems through the survey. And it explores the valuablesolutions and proposes the practical and feasible strategies from the point of highervocational college. The innovation of this dissertation lies in: on the basis ofpromulgating the entrepreneurial knowledge and practice, it makes great attempts todevelop college students’ entrepreneurial abilities and qualities from the respects ofgovernment, institutions and family together.
